We call them lanes in Savannah; they are “mews” in London. A great place to shelter from the busy streets and draw, the mews felt like a familiar refuge for me but also a private space for residents where I didn’t belong. Yet, I was lured in to see where they went and connected to other streets, and to imagine living there in one of those former stables - just like I did in Savannah.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI made the ink drawing while visiting one of my best friends in London in 2004.
