ALEXANDRIA, Virginia Captain's Row Prince Streetscape Art Print.

This is a PRINT of my hand-drawn architectural sketch of Captain's Row, the 100 Block of Prince Street, with my sketch of the Athenaeum centered within a laurel wreath. A faint outline of the 19th c. city grid map and my hand-drawn water texture in the background left.
Alexandria harbors the early nineteenth century in its narrow rowhomes and streets of brick and welcomes time travelers. Ship Captains purportedly built homes at the 100 Block of Prince Street in Alexandria Virginia. "Captain's Row" still feels like the early 1800s, with its rough cobblestone street tumbling down toward the Potomac River where the tall ships docked. The brick rowhomes and their dormers and chimneys rise like random organ pipes, roughly following the slope.
