I love the complexity and density of historic cities! It's fascinating to roam with your eye over the neighborhoods of Spokane, abstracted into a figure/ground, or block, plan. The way all the different grids reconcile themselves to each other and to the river and landscape...

The map centers on Downtown, Browne's Addition, High Bridge Park, Riverside as well as Gonzaga University. The map area includes Northwest and Audubon, Downriver Golf Course as well as Hillyard to the north and extends south to Southgate/Moran Prairie. The Spokane River forms the western boundary, with Riverside State Park and Indian Canyon Park, as well as the many golf courses along the river.
