A dynamic space of entry from many points into and within the old city of Rome, Piazza del Popolo is iconic for its nearly twin churches and the long views down the boulevards that pull you into the tangle of the city from the large open piazza.
I made the ink drawing as an architectural history graduate student on fellowship from University of Virginia in 2012. I used watercolor to interpret and enliven the drawing during pandemic quarantine, Spring 2020.
