I love the complexity and density of historic cities! It's fascinating to roam with your eye over the wards of Savannah, abstracted into a figure/ground, or block, plan. The purity of the plan is evident. This block plan is derived from an 1900 map of the City of Savannah created by city engineers and housed in Savannah's City Hall Archives as well as a 1916 Sanborn Map of the area north of Forsyth Park.
