The MOUNTAINS Collection, and this piece, is an exploration of brush + line, using the metaphorical form of MOUNTAIN to see how the marks of paintbrush and pen or pencil, with their contrasting textures, can work together to model the tactile surfaces of land.
Brush and Line bring out the varied land forms of Scafell Peak - rock outcroppings in black ink line, softer facets of the mountain in gentle watercolor, fields delineated by the vestiges of old stone walls in light green.
