DUBROVNIK, Croatia.
This jewel city on the Adriatic Sea is rich in Baroque and Gothic architecture, sea views, stone walls and cliffs, secret paths and hideaways. The map area includes the coastal city from the Old Town Stradun, northwest to the Babin Kuk and just across the inlet. The Old Town's very small blocks are rendered in my tiniest brush. Squint and you can walk these mythical stone streets with your eyes. A view of Old Town from the sea, stone walls and towers rising above the sea wall, gives a glimpse of Dubrovnik's architectural dimension.
This is a PRINT of my original watercolor painting. The warm reds recall the ubiquitous terra cotta roofs of Dubrovnik, with the sketch in black ink.
