POINT DEFIANCE Park, TACOMA, Washington City Map Art Print: Past and Present.
For your Map Wall, memento of your PNW adventures, reminder of home.
My hand-drawn, layered map of our venerable Point Defiance Park aims to capture the spirit of the past attractions of the Park alongside the current (2025) delights: The 1906 Nereides Baths "Remember and Do Not Spit in the Water", the sprawling old Marina, Bear Grotto of the earliest zoo, Storyland, Funland carousel and the timbered "Rustic Bridge" as well as the everpresent beloved seals, the hoped-for J-pod of orcas, a sailboat, beach umbrella at Owen, Japanese Garden portal, roses and Salmon Beach cottages. All laid out over a map of the Park's current road and path network, including the newest addition - the former Ruston slag heap island turned Dune Peninsula and the slides and stairs ("Chutes and Ladders") along the Wilson Bridge.
This is a PRINT, created by digitally combining my many hand-made drawings. This version is vertical, or portrait, format, with less focus on the map to let the forest grow tall and make room for the orca pod.

11" x 14" and 16" x 20" are the best print sizes to purchase if you'd like to find a frame "off the shelf" instead of custom framing. Prints have a border so no mat is required - just pop it in the frame of the same size and hang!
