My architectural sketch of the 1890 Hastings Building at the prominent corner of Taylor and Water Streets in all its glorious Victorian detail. In 1889, the local newspaper declared Elmer H. Fisher's design was “conceded by all to be the most elegant building in the city.” In my drawing, the elegant edifice is overcome by the wild poppies and blackberries of summer tourist season.
