The pale pink GIG HARBOR title hovers above my watercolor wash map of Gig Harbor and the southern tip of Kitsap Peninsula, including Artondale, Wollochet, Arletta, Kopachuck SP, Raft Island, Rosedale and the northern edge of Fox Island.
In the GH Map, we're celebrating a small town with a very significant water life - boats of all kinds, netsheds, lighthouse and the view of Mount Rainier over the boat-filled harbor. The brilliant new sculpture “Our Fisherman, Our Guardian” carved by artist Guy Capoeman, president of the Quinault Nation, which honors original inhabitants, the sx̌ʷəbabš band of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians. You'll also feel the forest on the peninsula interior as well as the sea life at Kopachuck State Park Beach.
