A few bold strokes of watercolor, revealing and imprinting the texture of the brush. The thin parallel graphite lines respond to the paint, building shapes between the paint marks and the paper’s edges. Striving for B A L A N C E.
This piece belongs to a series of abstract Brush + Line Studies - with a goal of balance and liveliness within the most basic set of components. I created the paint by grinding and mixing pigment from rocks foraged from the caves and riverbeds of my family’s summer outings in northern New York.
