ATLANTA Pride Rainbow Watercolor Map: PRINT
ATLANTA, Georgia.
This cosmopolitan city rose from the ashes of Sherman's March to the Sea to become the capital of the "New South" by the late nineteenth century. Home to Martin Luther King, Jr. and other revered leaders in the mid-twentieth century, Atlanta served as the cradle of the Civil Rights Movement, a place where the descendants of slaves rose over the preceding century in education, social life and the trades and arts and the city came to symbolize Black power in America. Atlanta boasts an impressive art scene today - and, of course, it's where Coca-Cola was first served! Have you seen the bright sign?
This is a PRINT. My hand-drawn map lines are turned white over my watercolor wash, a layering of many hand-painted rainbows.
