My PORT ORCHARD WA "Charms" Map, now on a Postcard - Show some local love for your favorite harbor on the Puget Sound!
The deep blue-green hand-painted cursive PORT ORCHARD title hovers above my sage-green watercolor wash hand-drawn map of greater Port Orchard with sketches of some of the town's icons or "charms" scattered around, roughly in the area where they exist in real life!
PO "charms" include: The Carlisle II, one of two remaining boats of the "Mosquito Fleet" that ferried all over the Sound in the early 1900s, still in service as a backup ferry to Bremerton. The "Hobbit House" at Brothers Greenhouse. The Port Orchard Marina. The Southworth WSDOT Ferry to Vashon. The Clock Tower at City Hall. Banner Forest. Log Cabin Museum. Manchester State Park Torpedo Warehouse. Port Orchard Farmers Market - oldest in Kitsap County! The "ghost" of The Sidney Hotel (a.k.a Naval View Hotel) which burned in 1985 but was an iconic symbol of Port Orchard, formerly called Sidney.
